Bouzov Castle

Bouzov Castle

Bouzov medieval castle, built in the early 14th century, located in the same settlement in the district of Olomouc in the Czech Republic.

History Bouzovskogo castle is fairly extensive. For many centuries it often alternated owners. During the Thirty Years War the castle walls were imperial fortress and prison. Before 1939 Bouzov belonged to the Teutonic Order until it was confiscated by the Nazis. During the Second World War, the castle was the administrative management of the SS, it remained confiscated valuables.

Today Bouzov appears to us the same as he was after the restoration in the early 20th century. In the guise of neo-Gothic castle there are features of the Renaissance. Fortress on a hill, surrounded by woods and fanned ancient legends about ghosts. Internal decoration medieval castle differs extraordinary beauty. Its rooms are filled with wooden paintings, carvings and sculptures. Knowingly here often filmed historical films.

Of great interest to visitors are the castle and the Knights Hall of Columns and Hunting Hall and Gothic. Very impressive castle 58 - meter tower and a chapel. Besides the unique architecture and interior Bouzov attracts visitors for its collection of medieval weapons.
